NEVER STRONG ENOUGH by Ebenezer Akinrinade
Tuesday, September 16, 2014
RECKLESS COURAGE
Coward!
A befitting name for the fearful dog that puts his tail in between his legs.
Coward!
The name for a soldier who succumb to enemy's intimidation in battlefield.
Coward!
The name for a people silenced by fear of death in the face of oppression.
Cowardice,
A small evil weed that grows within to subdue a king to a life of slavery.
When cowardice takes root it becomes hard and almost impossible to uproot.
And except by way of courage, no man can uproot the stumps of cowardice.
Courage is everything, a propeller, a booster. Courage is faith!
But courage alone is not always enough especially without wisdom.
Unguided courage is but a threat, a danger and an evil just like cowardice.
Wisdom is the guide that turns good courage away from becoming reckless.
Reckless courage changes good men of yesterday to oppressors tomorrow.
Add to your courage, godly wisdom, that you may triumph as a true leader.

JUNE: Rejoice, Rethink and Run
* Why Rejoice?
For everyone who made it to this new month of June, I believe there is a need to rejoice and celebrate regardless of whatever it is you have lost or gained since the beginning of this year. Cultivating an attitude of gratitude is very important, because it helps us to focus more on the positive side of life and gives us hope for a better tomorrow.
* Why Rethink?
Take a few minutes and rewind back to the beginning of this year, possibly you had written a "New Year Resolution" which is a set of goals and objectives of all you wish to achieve through the year, isn't it? So, the question now is, are you still committed to what you have set out to accomplished or you have even forgotten all about it? Today is the right time to rethink, revive and re-strategize so as for you to be able to make something worthwhile out of the remaining months ahead of you. It's never too late to make a new plan neither is it wrong to review the old one.
* Why Run?
Time is one of the greatest resource and gift that every human has in equal measure. Nobody has more time than the other, we all have 24hours each day to turn our dreams to realities. One popular secret about time is that those who plan their life (in order of priority) and stick to it will always achieve greater results and still have more time to do other things. Meanwhile those who leave things to chance and fail to plan will experience the direct opposite. Goal setting alone is not enough without the willingness and ability of the individual setting it to run with it from time to time until tangible results becomes evident. Start to live right by spending your time wisely on things and with people who add value to your life.
Your failure or success depends on these three things, the earlier you adjust and stick to them the better your chances of achieving more than you ever thought possible in the long run.
December 31st 2014 is just around the corner, what story will you tell when it comes?
I wish you a Happy New Month!

Two Steps To Securing Your Child's Future
The most important steps any parent can take to guarantee their children's future can be summed up in two statements:
1. Prepare the future for your child.
2. Prepare your child for the future.
The importance of the first step is to give hope, assurance and confidence to your child that there is a future so bright and blossoming for him/her to look forward to and strive to attain.
While the relevance for the second step is to develop the child's innate ability, skills and knowledge through proper parenting, quality education and continuous mentoring so as to enable him/her to not only anticicipate a beautiful future but importantly to possess an adequate measure of understanding of how to manage his/her own future effectively and make the best out of it.
Keep on learning, keep on succeeding!

7 Steps to Overcoming Arithmophobia (by Thato Makhutle)
"Arithmophobia is simply defined as the fear of Mathematics."
Here below are the Seven Steps to Overcoming Arithmophobia as shared by Thato Makhutle (Mathematician, Motivational Speaker, Entrepreneur & Inventor)
STEP 1:
Start by solving six (6) simple math problems that you understand a day, everyday.
STEP 2:
Every time you approach a problem, repeat the following words: "This is simple"
STEP 3:
BE WILLING TO LEARN! Practice what you have learned the same day. Repeat the sequence.
STEP 4:
Challenge yourself by increasing the 6 day rule, have someone that will teach you one on one.
STEP 5:
Develop your own way of solving problems, everyone has their own unique way.
STEP 6:
Practice everyday. Try using mathematical models to everyday life as much as possible.
STEP 7:
Define the activities of the world through mathematics. TEACH OTHERS!
Que: Is it true that some people are naturally/genetically born to be a Mathematics genius?
ANS: Yes it is true to an extent. However, one is teachable depending on their willingness to learn
Que: Do you think we have enough motivated teachers in schools, especially Africa?
ANS: We have thought leaders, we need to motivate our future leaders from a very young age, teach them how simple it is.
Final Advice:
Lastly, learn to love math. It's really simple!!

TIME HAS CHANGED
Our dear little girl
Is now a teen
Or a lady, I should say.
To her sibling,
She's one of many blessings.
To the world,
She's one of many rare gift.
She's a fine poet
Skillful at weaving words like cotton
Molding and shaping them into pattern.
Our little girl is longer timid
She now speak of many wise things
Bringing strong men to their knees,
Making the ignorant sit to think,
And the heavens rise to their feet.
Indeed, you're a blessing and a gift.
Time has changed, and so have you.
(Dedicated to @OluKemsola on her birthday)

The Cost of Happiness
If happiness is a thing money can buy,
Only the rich will have a cause to smile.
If happiness were sold for a price,
Maybe all I'ld have is sorrow and frown.
If happiness were a seed sown on one man's land,
Of course, many would have been starved to death by now
But happiness is a gift bestowed on me from above,
Like the rain, sunshine and the breath I breathe.
Happiness is a miracle that begins with a giggle, a smile, or a laughter
It ignites my soul, lightens my heart and brightens my face.
Happiness is a seed I have found aplenty in me,
It has grown wider than the oaks and higher than the palms.
This happy tree has more fruit than I alone can eat
Little wonder I share joy, love, and smiles with every passersby.
Happiness has taken hold of me.
And I am happiness personified.

LOVE IS...
LOVE IS...
Love is like the sun after rain--it's bright and harmless;
Like seabreeze by early morning--it's pure and unpolluted;
Like a rock, beaten by storm, rain and scorching sun--it's firm and unshaken;
Like the mystery of God's existence--it's divine and unfathomable.
Like a gift unrestricted to Xmas and Valentine--it's free and inexhaustible.
True love never 'was' nor 'will be' but forever 'is'--always present.

SMART PHONES & PRODUCTIVITY (by Remi Dairo)
Today I will be sharing with you how you can be smarter using the smart phones!
Do you know you can increase productivity by just having a smart phone! Smart phones are not just for calls, sms and playing games!
Below are three (3) powerful ways to use your smart phone to increase productivity:
1. Mind Recalling:
You can use your smart phones to help your mind to recall things!
Your productivity will increase by 50% if you remember what you said you will do or be reminded to do it! You don't have to cram stuff when you have a NotePad on your phone, it helps you to jot down your "quick drops" that you may need to remember later! Calculator, Organizer and To Do App are all available to increase your capacity to produce!
2. Voice Recording:
Most time we attend meetings that we wish we could play back again!
We go for events we wish we could see again! Your brain does not have the capacity to retain all the activities of meetings or events but your smart phone does! You can record voices or videos on your phone, watch them or listen to them over and over again, you will be surprised by your level of productivity after this!
Don't just use your phone to snap use it to bridge gaps!
3. Task Reshuffling:
Friends, you can work and rework on your smart phone!
You can download files, PDF files, documents, powerpoint presentations and other function you use your computer system for! You can read, edit and re-send any document, all these you can do at your comfort at anywhere! Why are you complaining that the lack of a computer has shut down your productivity when you have a smart phone!
As you go out this week, make maximum use of your smart phone and increase your capacity to produce!
Thank You

A YEAR ONCE NEW
Tic tac, tic tac
Seconds became minutes,
And minutes counted by the hours
Each day gives way to another,
Weeks rolled by and turned months
We all grew older, not younger.
Tic tac, tic tac
We are here again at the borderline
Waiting to cross and start a new count
The last day of the year is here;
A year once called NEW is now ending
For another 365 days to be given.
Think twice, be wise!
Though it seems the world has no end
But true, no man will live forever.
Even as each year comes to an end
You and I will someday be a history;
Our actions and deeds but a reflection.
Tic tac, be full of thanks
Tic tac, make a plan
We're given same measure of time
Lest one complain and feel cheated.
Each man must chart his own course
Either led by his instinct or his GOD.

EMBRACE YOURSELF
When was the last time you embraced yourself? This might sound very awkward sort of, but I think it's something very important to do.
We expect so much from other people and wait needlessly and endlessly for them to do for us what we possibly can do for ourselves. And because they never really get to do the very thing we expect, most of us end up caving in with a feeling of neglect, unhappiness, and saddened by the thought that nobody appreciate us.
What you don't know is that these other person are also looking for people to appreciate them as well. So instead of waiting suffering in a waiting cycle that never ends, why not start by learning to embrace yourself with a roundabout hug whispering positive words (e.g. "Ebenezer, you are such a nice person; I love being around you because you are a happy dude; Kudos, you've done a good job today; and so on). Unconsciously, what you're doing is empowering yourself to stay positive regardless of whether people appreciate you or not.
In fact, the interesting thing about this is that, soon enough, others will be wondering how come you are always wearing an expression of excitement on your face. You'll gradually become a center of attraction, inspiring happiness in the lives of everyone you encounter.
Those in the field of psychology may tagged this exercise as "Positive Self Affirmation", which of course is very right.
It's working for me. So go ahead and give it a little try. You may feel shy and stupid at first, second and third attempt, but don't bother your head with that, it's the benefits thereafter that you should be more concerned about.
I believe with time you will be the one teaching others, especially kids, to do same so they can learn about positive self-image and self-appreciation. For children, this exercise can help build up their confidence as they grow up into adulthood.
Okay, enough talking. I think you should just embrace yourself right now, and repeat it every morning when you wake up and before you go to bed. If you are committed enough, I bet you, one week of this simple, and yet so valuable exercise, will definitely change your perspective about you forever.
Let the sweet embrace begin!

EVERY CHILD HAS A VOICE
There are times I cry all alone in my closet, feeling ashamed of my inability and lack of courage to express myself. For more than two decades of my life many more people took me for granted, decided for me and assumed a lot of things without giving me any chance to really express my own views or feelings.
But somewhere along the line after attending several seminars and workshops, and reading a lot of books on the subject, I began to speak up for myself. At first, it wasn't easy, but the more I practiced and display courage in my conversation with others, people began to respect my opinions, views and ideas. It was a big breakthrough for me, as if I was released from the prison yard of imposition and forceful silence. I gained my own freedom, my human right privilege to speak and be listen to.
Today, I see many children like me around suffering in silence because no-one really cares to hear them out, most especially the adults. Most adults, including parents, believes that children don't have a say and should be decided for on what to do and what not to do. This is totally wrong and unfair.
In my opinion, I believe every person regardless of age, sex or social status have a voice that needs to be heard. Denying children the right to speak is against their human rights and the earlier we empower them to use their voice the better for us.
In fact, I believe most of the world's greatest challenges will be half-solved if only we can learn to listen to these innocent voices. Ideas and innovation does not only emerge from older people, children can also be inspired to create something new too.
I have been through that road of shyness, silence and intimidation before, and I cannot watch another generation of innocent, innovative and inspired voices to be forced through the same path. Never! Not in my lifetime.
Every child has a voice and now is the time to give them the courage, guidance and platform to express their hidden talents.
I stand as a child advocate, speaking for as many children whose voices are yet to be heard.

I AM PERFECT
I am PERFECT;
A creation WITHOUT BLEMISH.
I am PERFECT;
An extension of GOD in HUMAN FLESH.
I am PERFECT;
A mere man SAVED by GRACE and SACRIFICE.
I am PERFECT;
An heaven-bound saint like JESUS of NAZARETH.
I am PERFECT;
See my claims not as a sweet talk or a blaspheme.
I am PERFECT;
Though, my PERFECTION is not of the FLESH
I am PERFECT;
And it is CHRIST in me who brings me to PERFECTION.

Postponement of Nigeria's Doomsday
This pic is an attestation to the fact that evil doth rule the world. That your life is a part of a grand scheme to give the devil dominion over the world.
I look at this in a Religious and Political eyes because both are in play in this picture. We should really feel lucky in Nigeria especially the youths that you can use a Blackberry to update TGIF every Friday yet the living standards in Nigeria is bad, that you can be Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa and your life isn't threatened while Hutus almost wiped out Tutsis some years back in Rwanda, that we didn't have to fight bloody to gain Independence like the South Africans...BUT feel sad because we have only succeeded in shifting our DOOMSDAY forward.
I am a proponent of Idealism as Materialism has only made everybody in Nigeria lazy. We all love Fela yet the deep message in his songs like "Suffering and Smiling" is overlooked while his weeding habit is embraced as if that's all he taught us.
This Generation lived as though it was created to party and get wasted with dwindling moral values. I wonder if the thousands of generations before us were party animals or funseekers like us if anything worthwhile would be accomplished, Karl Marx, Descartes, Carl Benz, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, Da Vinci, Jesus Christ...Even money without values soon fades (I dare you to test the theory). What the f**k did our parents eat or do that made us so worthless?! I jammed up my points yes but i will subsequently pick them out for discuss in due time.

Life Lessons from 2Face, Van Vicker and P-Square
Tuface (Innocent Idibia) married Anne, after many years of flirting with other women, why? Because he knows no other woman contributed to his life as much as Anne. Van Vicker, the popular Ghanaian movie actor, did the very same thing, marrying the girl he met when he was just 15yrs old. Peter of P-Square is towing that very same line, proposing to his girlfriend and ‘baby mama’ of many years.
What do we learn from these men? They have seen a lot of women in their life, but yet still yet, they went back to that one woman who stood by them when they were no body. Guys, learn from these men…. There is nothing as sweet as the love of that woman who drank garri with you, who slept with you on your hard floor without a bed, who didn't care what you had or what you didn’t have. Their love is pure sweet and innocent. They are obedient, considerate, understanding, supportive, and submissive. Why?
Because they know what you went through to make it in life. When you tell a woman, who knows how u suffered to make it, to sit, she will sit. Because she knows where you are coming from, she respects you she saw you become a Man not because she was told. She saw you struggle it out.
But it’s not the same with ready-made women. That is why when you talk, they talk, and because they didn't see you suffer it out or have an idea of where you are coming from. Forget all these ready-made women who can’t give account of how you started your life and/or how you made your money and fame in life.
Go back to those women who stood by you, when you were nobody, the women who drank garri with you. ‘They are your real wives.’
A word is enough for the wise!

SIMPLE, BUT CLASSIC (poem)
Simple and classic, she was dressed up in a gown so beautiful
Her golden earrings and wired bracelet were just but a perfect fit
She had no hidden motive to show-off her curves or entice the feasting eyes
Nevertheless, her graceful countenance and fluffy natural hair made her the center of attraction
Even her lips were shaped with smiles, and her white teeth shined so brightly in between
Hastily and hurriedly, the lustful eyes began to gazed and strategize
Excitedly they thought she was a game, but sadly they all hunted to no avail
Then they realized that this rare specie was not a meat on sale
Awhile sitted around the corner, I looked upon her with a poetic eyes and saw a rose flower
So gently and patiently I waited like a gardener for this flower to find its owner
I waited and waited, until that perfect moment she came my way and rested on my shoulder
Finally I found a queen and I knew my waiting was not in vain
And until now, I doubt if ever I will see a maiden adorned in such beauty and simplicity like her again.
